This unique sporting style can be challenging for beginners, making it more prone to falls and injuries than skiing.
Furthermore, snowboarding's trajectory differs from conventional sports, requiring the skier to glide sideways, which requires some adjustment for beginners. The biggest challenge is getting the board moving before fully mastering the control technique.
But once you master the sideways center of gravity technique, controlling the board becomes much easier. Especially on powdery snow, the smoothness and silkiness of snowboarding surpasses skiing. While highly fluid, it can be challenging for beginners and can be more injury-prone.

More importantly, the direction of gliding is consistent with walking: forward. This familiarity undoubtedly alleviates any fear for beginners.
Snowboarding also offers excellent balance. If a fall threatens, the skis often provide more stable support, helping the skier quickly regain their balance.
Furthermore, snowboarding is highly maneuverable. On flat ground or gentle uphill slopes, a simple adjustment to a figure-eight stance allows for easy navigation.
Snowboarding, with its shoe-like feel and consistent gliding direction, is easy for beginners to master. It also provides better support for balance and maneuverability, helping to reduce the risk of falls.
